Fire-rated doors, tested as a complete doorset

30 to 120 minutes of certified protection — to UL, EN, BS and GB standards.
Overview

A fire rating belongs to the whole assembly — leaf, frame, glazing, seals and hardware tested together.

KENT builds fire doors as a certified doorset rated 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes against UL 10C, EN 1634, BS 476 and GB 12955. A certified fire-resistant core carries the rating; intumescent and smoke seals close the gaps under heat; certified closers, hinges and fire-rated vision glazing complete the set; and the same leaf can be specified acoustic to 45 dB Rw. Single or double, oversized within the tested limits, and finished across the full KENT range — so a life-safety door still matches the architecture.

The rating lives in the whole doorset

A heavy core alone does not hold a rating. KENT tests and supplies the complete assembly — core, intumescent and smoke seals, closer, hinges and any vision panel — so the certificate matches what is installed.

Certified, and still beautiful

A fire door does not have to look like one. The certified core takes the full KENT face range — veneer, laminate or steel — with certified fire-rated glazing where a vision panel is required.

FAQ

Questions specifiers ask

Does the rating apply to the leaf or the whole door?+
To the complete tested assembly — leaf, frame, seals, glazing and hardware. KENT supplies certificates for authority (AHJ) approval.
Can a fire door also be acoustic?+
Yes — one certified doorset can carry both ratings, up to 45 dB Rw.
Which standard should we specify?+
It depends on the jurisdiction and the project's code basis. KENT tests to UL 10C, EN 1634, BS 476 and GB 12955; see the fire-ratings guide to compare.
Can it be oversized?+
Within the tested limits for the rating, yes — oversized single and double leaves are available.
Fire and acoustic ratings apply to the complete tested assembly; certificates are supplied for AHJ approval. Images are indicative until project photography is supplied.
