Oversized leaves & joinery, to roughly 8 m

The scale a lobby or ballroom asks for — engineered to stay flat.
Overview

At this scale, flatness is the whole problem — and the whole craft.

KENT engineers oversized door leaves and joinery to roughly 8 m for lobbies, ballrooms and grand portals. At this scale the challenge is keeping a tall, heavy leaf flat: balanced construction, a climate-stable carcass and framed internal structure resist the warp and movement that the Gulf's heat and humidity would otherwise drive. Cores are specified to weight and rating — solid and engineered timber, or mineral and hollow cores where fire or weight demands — and hung on pivot or heavy-duty hardware sized to the leaf.

Climate-stable carcass construction
01

Engineered against warp

A tall leaf wants to bow. Balanced layups and a climate-stable carcass keep the forces symmetrical so the leaf stays flat through thermal and humidity swings.

Core and hardware to the weight

The right core depends on the job — solid and engineered timber for warmth, mineral or hollow cores where fire or weight rules. Heavy leaves are hung on pivots or heavy-duty hardware sized to the leaf.

FAQ

Questions specifiers ask

How large can a leaf be?+
Oversized leaves to roughly 8 m are engineered; the exact limit depends on weight, core and hardware, confirmed per project.
How do you keep it flat?+
Balanced construction, a climate-stable carcass and an internal frame resist the warp the Gulf's heat and humidity would drive.
Can an oversized door be fire-rated?+
Within the tested limits for the rating, yes — oversized leaves combine with fire and acoustic specifications.
